The overwhelming interest in the summit underscores the growing demand for green technology and sustainable solutions across the U.S.
Featured speakers include Ani Dasgupta, CEO of World Resources Institute, Michael Izzo, Head of Sustainability at Hines (one of the world's largest real estate firms), and Jigar Shah, a leading figure in U.S. clean technology. They are joined by Swedish industrial companies such as Atlas Copco, Husqvarna, Volvo Construction Equipment, Alfa Laval, KTC, Candela, Electrification Hub, and Rådslaget.
“We are very pleased with the great interest in the conference, which signals that the green transition is a key issue for many cities and stakeholders here in the U.S. There is a high demand for innovative solutions that reduce both energy consumption and costs – and Sweden has a great deal of expertise to share", says Johanna Eklund, Green Transition Initiative.
A unique feature of the conference is the presence of Swedish Candela's electric hydrofoil boat, the world's first of its kind, which will be docked outside the Embassy.
“The United States can be a leader in clean maritime transport — with vast, underused waterways running through some of its most congested cities. What Candela brings to the table is proven technology that’s already transforming public transport in Sweden. With electric hydrofoils, we can help the U.S. unlock fast, emission-free ‘blue corridors’ — cutting travel times, costs, and emissions all at once”, says Mikael Mahlberg, Head of Communications at Candela.

GREEN TRANSITION INITIATIVE
The objective of the Green Transition Initiative (GTI) is to position Sweden as a key partner to U.S. cities and states in their urban transformation, connect Swedish and U.S. stakeholders, and leverage opportunities in sectors such as mobility, energy, and buildings. The initiative aims to strengthen innovation collaboration, trade, and investments between Sweden and the United States.
GTI is a joint initiative between the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C., Business Sweden, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova.
