Together with the Embassy of Sweden in Indonesia, Business Sweden launched and has for several years managed the Sweden Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP), a platform for collaboration where Swedish and Indonesian stakeholders create opportunities for trade, investment, and knowledge exchange in areas that are critical to sustainable societal development. The Crown Princess’s visit to Indonesia places particular emphasis on sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, closely reflecting the platform’s focus and the cooperation between the two countries.
This year’s SISP conference will be held in conjunction with the delegation. During the conference, a new platform for responsible forestry will be launched, and new cooperation agreements between Swedish and Indonesian stakeholders will be signed.
“With the conclusion of negotiations on the free trade agreement between the EU and Indonesia, we are entering a new and exciting phase in our trade relations. The fact that Business Sweden is now leading the largest business delegation ever to Indonesia demonstrates that companies recognise the market’s potential. This is an important first opportunity to turn the free trade agreement into concrete collaborations and further strengthen trade and investment between our countries,” says Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.

Sweden and Indonesia have a long history of economic cooperation. Today, around 80 Swedish-affiliated companies operate in Indonesia in sectors including manufacturing, telecommunications, transport, energy, healthcare, and mining. The visit confirms both countries’ ambition to deepen cooperation in areas that strengthen innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable development. The delegation consists of more than 50 companies and Team Sweden organisations, with more than 100 delegates participating.
