Approximately 150 representatives from companies and organisations, across both the private and public sectors, took part in the Saudi–Sweden Business Forum, organised by Business Sweden in collaboration with the Saudi Swedish Joint Business Council (SSJBC). The programme focused on concrete business opportunities and covered areas including logistics and infrastructure, export finance, healthcare, tech and innovation, as well as capital and investment.

Interest was strong from both sides, with a particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation with the Saudi private sector and developing long-term partnerships.

Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed:

  • Innovation360 Sweden – Fikrati Innovative Training Institute: collaboration to strengthen innovation capacity and develop innovation systems in line with Saudi Vision 2030
  • Saudi Swedish Innovation Pipeline – HD Ventures: partnership focused on investments in health and technology

“The strong engagement from both the private and public sectors in Sweden and Saudi Arabia demonstrates a clear ambition to deepen cooperation. We see significant opportunities for Swedish companies in Saudi Arabia, which is also confirmed by our business climate survey. It shows that Swedish companies are performing well in the market, with 77 per cent of respondents reporting profitability in 2025,” says Nebe Almayahi, Trade Commissioner for Saudi Arabia at Business Sweden.

“Vision 2030 has moved from ambition to concrete projects. Sweden and Swedish companies have much to contribute – not least through innovative solutions in areas where demand in Saudi Arabia is high. These past few days have demonstrated a shared determination to move from dialogue to concrete collaboration,” says Saud Alsulaiman, Co-Chair of the Saudi Swedish Joint Business Council.

“The partnership reflects the complementary strengths of Sweden and Saudi Arabia. Sweden contributes strong expertise in innovation and technology, while Saudi Arabia offers capital, execution capability and a rapidly growing market. Together, this creates very favourable conditions for developing, investing in and scaling new solutions,” says Peje Emilsson, Co-Chair of the Saudi Swedish Joint Business Council.
