Sweden Takes a Unified Approach to Food Sales in Europe
A new digital initiative aims to increase business between Swedish food companies and European distributors.

Sweden is now taking a coordinated approach to strengthen sales of Swedish food products across Europe. Within the framework of Try Swedish, Business Sweden is launching a digital catalogue that brings together export-ready Swedish food companies and connects them directly with selected European distributors.
The digital catalogue is aimed at distributors in priority European markets who are actively seeking new products to grow their business. Through this initiative, Swedish companies gain a shared platform for visibility, matchmaking and business dialogue, with the goal of accelerating tangible sales and fostering long-term partnerships.
“Swedish food companies have many strengths that are in demand across Europe, but it is often challenging to reach the right decision-makers. With the digital catalogue, we are consolidating the offering and making it easier for European distributors to identify and initiate business with Swedish suppliers,” says Maria Kärnerud, Head of the Try Swedish Food Export Programme at Business Sweden.
Selected companies – targeted distributor connections
The catalogue features Swedish food companies that are export-ready and matched with distributors who have demonstrated interest in new products across segments such as retail, food service and niche markets.
The catalogue is actively promoted to a network of European distributors, creating a more targeted and commercially focused interface for business engagement.
Part of Try Swedish – Sweden’s export platform for the food industry
The digital catalogue forms part of Try Swedish, Business Sweden’s export platform for Swedish food and beverage companies. The initiative complements existing activities such as international trade fairs, delegations and marketing efforts – but with a clear focus on sales and commercial outcomes.
“This marks an important step in moving from visibility to actual business. By combining a structured digital platform with personal distributor meetings, we are strengthening the conditions for increased exports to Europe,” says Maria Kärnerud.
The digital catalogue will be rolled out gradually during 2026 and forms part of a long-term effort to strengthen Swedish food exports in priority markets.
