Report
The new supply chain playbook for Swedish industry

Swedish companies are entering a new era of structural trade fragmentation. While 76% report adapting well to rising tariffs and export controls, only one third use sourcing as a competitive lever — leaving significant strategic ground still to be claimed.

Analysis
Strong European export outlook

Despite continued trade and geopolitical uncertainty, Business Sweden’s Export Managers’ Index (EMI) rose in the first quarter of the year. EMI increased by 1.4 points to 50.8 – a level just above the 50‑mark that indicates slightly more export companies now expect an improvement rather than a weakening in export performance. Overall, Swedish exporters remain cautiously optimistic.

Analysis
New horizon for Swedish export of services

World export of services rose by approximately 10 per cent in current prices during 2024. Sweden gained ground in 4 out of 7 services categories – further bolstering its prominent position in digital services.
