"We are very glad to continue GTI as a platform for U.S.-Sweden collaboration on urban transformation. Now more than ever, we need to accelerate smart solutions for thriving cities—future-proof transport, energy-efficient buildings, and intelligent energy systems. Let's make it happen!” – Linda Andrén, Executive Director, Green Transition Initiative.
Successful projects that have been accomplished during the years include a system pilot between the leading Swedish companies Husqvarna Construction, Atlas Copco and Volvo Construction Equipment, showcasing a fully electric construction project that demonstrates the potential for reduced emissions and noise levels. Green Transition Initiative has also arranged three Green Transition Summits, gathering over 1 100 participants from both Sweden and the US to increase collaboration, and strengthen business opportunities.
“Alexandria and cities across the U.S. are increasing their commitment to sustainability and GTI plays an important role in introducing Swedish technology and innovation that can support this journey”, says Ryan Freed, Climate Action Officer for Alexandria, Virginia.
“With Sweden’s advancements in GTI’s focus areas, green buildings, urban energy solutions, and city transport, we see great potential to further strengthen U.S.-Swedish collaboration in driving newtechnologies and innovations”, says Niclas Carlsson, Head of international market development and investment at Swedish Energy Agency.
