As global uncertainty affects traditional trade partnerships and domestic market growth slows, Swedish companies are broadening their horizons by turning to new markets. Southeast Asia has emerged as an attractive region with strong economic growth, young populations, and rapid urbanisation.

Business Sweden is tasked with enhancing awareness among SMEs about business opportunities in Asia, as part of the government's Asia initiative. A lecture tour conducted across Sweden in the autumn of 2024 is now followed by a study trip to Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia on 10–14 March.

During the trip, representatives from 24 Swedish SMEs across various industries will meet potential customers and business partners, share experiences, and explore collaborative opportunities. Participants, including public-sector representatives, will engage with local companies, authorities, and Swedish businesses already established in the region. They will gain insights into local market dynamics, key trends, business opportunities, and how EU sustainability regulations impact local manufacturers.
