About the event:

Singapore and Sweden: Cooperation in Energy

Building on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 between Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) and the Swedish Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, the Singapore-Sweden Forum marks a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

Sweden brings strong credentials in advancing a low-carbon energy future. With more than 98% of its electricity generation coming from fossil-free sources—including hydropower, nuclear, and a growing share of wind and solar—Sweden is widely recognised as a global leader in the clean energy transition. The country is also at the forefront of innovation in energy storage, electrification, digital grid solutions, and the integration of renewable energy across sectors.

By leveraging Sweden’s experience and strengths, Singapore can explore collaborative pathways in developing smart and sustainable energy systems, accelerating decarbonisation, and building long-term energy resilience. These partnerships support Singapore’s ambitions for a greener future while reinforcing its role as a regional hub for energy innovation, investment, and collaboration.
