One of the most dynamic economic performers in Europe, Poland is a key destination for Swedish exports, production, sourcing, and long-term investment.

This report presents the 2025 Business Climate Survey for Poland, which is the first survey of Swedish companies operating in Poland in several years. Its findings show that 2024 was a financially stable year for the majority of the Swedish business community in Poland, with 75 per cent of respondents reporting they were profitable at the midpoint on the assessment scale – indicating performances that were neither especially strong nor particularly weak. Meanwhile, 65 per cent of respondents reported that they expect turnover in their industry to grow in 2025.

The Polish economy has proved to be resilient amid ongoing global challenges. A key production and export hub as well as a growing centre for innovation and services, it’s expected to remain among the strongest performers in the EU, driven by steady domestic demand, recovering investment, and continued inflows of EU funding. Accordingly, Poland has become a priority destination for Swedish trade and investment.

The ‘Swedish brand’ remains stable and in some areas continues to gain strength for companies seeking to establish and grow their presence on the Polish market. More than a third of respondents observed an improvement in how the Swedish brand is perceived in Poland.

Overall, the findings indicate that the Swedish image remains a significant asset, particularly for large companies and those with a longer market presence. Respondents report that their Polish partners frequently associate Sweden with reliability, quality, and innovation. Consumer-facing firms also reported a strong association of Swedish products with superior design, product safety, and environmental values.

Poland recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with Sweden, confirming both countries’ ambition to strengthen collaboration in areas such as defence, cyber resilience, green industry and smart technologies. And Swedish business activity in Poland is already substantial, including manufacturing, IT, logistics, retail, and professional services. However, sustainability – a well-known strength of Swedish businesses – lacks a mature market in Poland.
