The delegation’s primary goal is to build new and strengthen existing bilateral relations between Sweden and Singapore, enhancing trade and investment between the two nations. The focus areas will be digitalisation, green transition, and innovation.

The program includes a business forum, networking sessions with local stakeholders, topic-specific seminars, and study visits. Delegation participants will have the opportunity to engage with regional partners and customers at various points during the program.

The Government’s 2023 Strategy for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Global Competitiveness highlights an increased focus on Asia. As a result, Business Sweden is strengthening its presence and activities in the region.

“Asia is expected to lead global economic growth in the coming years. Singapore is a key market due to its strategic location, technological and financial strengths, and its role as a global trade and logistics hub. With many markets in the region poised for significant growth driven by demographic shifts, urbanisation, and technological advancements, Swedish companies have excellent opportunities to expand their customer base, production capacity, R&D capabilities, and business partnerships in Singapore and across the region,” said Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.

“Our aim is to solidify Sweden’s position as a sustainable, long-term partner to Singapore in the energy, transport, healthcare, and defence sectors. We also seek to enhance cooperation in emerging technologies, such as AI, and in talent attraction and skills development. Finally, we want to deepen the knowledge of Singapore and Asia among Swedish companies, government entities, and academia,” added Emil Akander, Regional Director for South and Southeast Asia and Sweden’s Trade Secretary in Singapore.
