During the visit, Sweden and Canada will launch a strategic partnership that will serve as a political framework to further deepen the relationship and enhance the countries’ ability to address common challenges.
“Canada is a strategic partner with strong industries in clean energy, advanced technology, and defence & security. Through this delegation, Swedish companies can build long-term relationships with Canadian partners across a range of sectors”, says Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.
“We see major opportunities to deepen cooperation with Canada, particularly in areas such as security, digitalisation, and sustainable development. The delegation provides Swedish companies with a unique platform for international partnerships”, says Christina Keighren, Country Manager, Business Sweden Canada.
Delegation participants will be able to join one of two industry tracks – defence & security or electrification – and take part in tailored company visits to, among others, Ericsson’s R&D centre, Area X.O Innovation Centre for Defence and Transport, Bombardier, Mila, and Volt-Age. The programme will also include interactive forums and high-level networking opportunities in Ottawa and Montréal.
The delegation will also participate in Sweden–Canada Innovation Days 2025, an annual invitation-only conference funded by Vinnova and the Swedish Energy Agency. The conference brings together representatives from industry, academia, and government, focusing on collaboration, financing opportunities, and the green transition. It promotes Swedish–Canadian partnerships in AI, defence and security, clean energy, advanced technology, and electrification.
