Türkiye remains a strategically important market for Swedish companies, supported by its industrial capacity, regional trade integration, and role as a hub connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Competitive manufacturing capabilities and established supply chains continue to support Swedish business engagement across sectors.
At the same time, companies operate in a demanding environment. Inflation, exchange rate volatility, financing constraints, and regulatory complexity remain key challenges affecting operational planning and investment decisions. Customs procedures and taxation-related administrative burdens are also highlighted as significant obstacles.
Investment sentiment remains cautious but more balanced than in previous years. While most companies plan to maintain current investment levels, one-third intend to increase investments, reflecting gradual improvements in confidence and continued long-term commitment to the market.
Competitiveness in Türkiye is closely linked to cost efficiency, strong local partnerships, and commercial capabilities. The Swedish brand remains a significant asset, particularly in consumer-facing and industrial sectors where quality, reliability, and technical expertise are highly valued.
Swedish companies generally perceive Türkiye’s business climate as more stable than in 2025, although caution remains widespread. Companies report high satisfaction with suppliers, service providers, and distributors, while transparency, customs procedures, and access to financing continue to receive lower assessments.
Sustainability considerations are becoming increasingly integrated into business operations and customer expectations, although environmental factors remain a secondary purchasing driver for many customers. Reported exposure to corruption and human or labour rights abuses remains limited, though respondents also note constrained visibility in these areas.
