As one of the world’s most important technology and manufacturing hubs, Taiwan continues to offer significant opportunities for Swedish companies. Strong positions in semiconductors, AI-related industries, advanced manufacturing, and industrial innovation create opportunities across sectors such as industrial equipment, healthcare, cleantech, energy, and digital infrastructure.

At the same time, companies report a more demanding operating environment. Geopolitical tensions, supply-chain uncertainty, intensifying competition, technical regulations, and regulatory complexity continue to affect strategic planning and operational decision-making. Companies also point to talent shortages, licensing processes, and access to renewable energy as ongoing challenges.

Cooperation between Sweden and Taiwan remains strong within sectors such as industrial technology, advanced manufacturing, energy, healthcare, telecommunications, sustainability, and digitalisation. Taiwan’s continued investments in AI, electrification, semiconductors, industrial upgrading, and the energy transition continue to create opportunities for Swedish companies offering innovative and sustainable solutions.

Competitiveness in Taiwan is closely linked to cost efficiency, product development, brand awareness, and strong customer relationships. The Swedish brand continues to be associated with quality, innovation, reliability, and sustainability.

Taiwan is widely regarded as an attractive and sophisticated market with strong infrastructure, high levels of personal safety, and advanced industrial capabilities. However, companies also point to regulatory barriers, compliance complexity, geopolitical uncertainty, and talent access as ongoing challenges.
