As one of Latin America’s most stable and open economies, Chile continues to offer attractive opportunities for Swedish companies. Strong market access, a transparent business environment, advanced infrastructure, and global leadership in mining and critical minerals make Chile a strategic market across sectors such as mining, energy, transport, technology, healthcare, and sustainable infrastructure.

At the same time, companies describe a more demanding operating environment in certain areas. Regulatory complexity, permitting processes, labour market regulations, and customs procedures continue to affect operational efficiency and investment timelines.

Cooperation between Sweden and Chile remains strong within sectors such as mining, renewable energy, electrification, transport, industrial equipment, and digitalisation. Chile’s continued investments in the green transition, critical raw materials, and sustainable infrastructure continue to create opportunities for Swedish companies offering innovative and sustainable solutions.

Competitiveness in Chile is closely linked to customer collaboration, partnerships, sales competence, operational efficiency, and service development. The Swedish brand continues to be associated with sustainability, quality, innovation, and reliability.

Chile is widely regarded as an attractive and reliable market with strong economic fundamentals, transparent institutions, and high openness to international business. At the same time, companies continue to point to regulatory barriers and permitting processes as areas requiring improvement.
