On 28 – 31 January 2025, Business Sweden arranges a business delegation in connection with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard's official visit to Colombia and Peru. The purpose of the delegation is to bring together Swedish and local actors from the private and public sectors to strengthen relationships and explore new areas of cooperation in sustainable mining and green energy.
Colombia and Peru are important strategic partners for Sweden and both countries have significant mining industries that offer opportunities for Swedish companies to contribute innovative and sustainable solutions. In addition, both Colombia and Peru have demonstrated a commitment to improving environmental standards and promoting sustainable development, making them attractive partners for Sweden in the pursuit of a greener future.
Swedish companies participating in the delegation include ABB, AFRY, Atlas Copco, Ecogain, Ericsson, Epiroc, Midsummer, NIR, Quant Service, Sandvik, Scania and Wallenberg Investments.
Dialogues on sustainable mining and green energy in Colombia

The official agenda of the business delegation includes high-level activities such as round tables with the Ministry of Mines and Energy and meetings with Colombian companies and associations from the mining and energy sectors, focused on exchanging experiences and best practices and identifying opportunities for collaboration and business.
Strengthening ties with the Peruvian mining ecosystem
The mining sector in Peru is important for Swedish mining equipment suppliers offering technologies to increase operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The business program will include meetings with senior officials and business executives, with the objective of expanding business exchange and collaboration for economic and social development.
