The historic agreement between the EU and Mercosur establishes a free trade area encompassing more than 700 million people. The agreement will be applied provisionally from 1 May, pending final ratification. At the same time, EU relations with Mexico have been strengthened through an updated trade agreement that enhances opportunities for Swedish companies in both markets.
With regard to this, we are bringing together representatives of Swedish industry, along with experts from the National Board of Trade Sweden (Kommerskollegium) and Business Sweden, for a dialogue on the business opportunities created by these agreements and on how Swedish companies can capitalise on the region’s potential and position themselves ahead of the agreements’ final ratification.
The dialogue is as such aimed at representatives of Swedish industry with an interest in trade, investment, or strategic partnerships in the Mercosur countries and Mexico.
During the meeting, we will, among other things, hear from State Secretary to the Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Diana Janse. Furthermore, participants will get an overview of the trade agreements with the two markets and what they mean in practice, as well as expert perspectives from Kommerskollegium and Business Sweden’s regional representatives.
