As one of Sweden’s closest trading partners, Finland continues to offer strong opportunities supported by high purchasing power, political stability, advanced digitalisation, and close business ties. For many Swedish companies, Finland is both a key export market and a natural platform for broader Nordic cooperation and expansion.
At the same time, survey results point to a more demanding operating environment. Companies highlight slower economic growth, cost pressures, and cautious investment behaviour as key challenges. Regulatory complexity and labour market constraints also affect competitiveness and operational flexibility.
Cooperation between Sweden and Finland remains strong in sectors such as energy, electrification, infrastructure, manufacturing, defence, and digital technologies. Finland’s investments in industrial modernisation and energy transition continue to create opportunities for Swedish companies with expertise in sustainable and innovative solutions.
Competitiveness in Finland is linked to strong local relationships, long-term commitment, and the ability to adapt to changing customer needs. The Swedish brand remains associated with quality, reliability, sustainability, and innovation.
Finland is widely seen as a transparent and predictable market with strong institutions and a highly skilled workforce. However, companies also point to increasing competition and a more cautious investment climate.
