The investment

MK PLUS is expanding its European activities through Vanadis Energy and MK Plus Sweden AB in Rosersberg, north of Stockholm. Following the acquisition of Enerpoly's assets, the company gained access to manufacturing equipment, industrial infrastructure, and experienced battery professionals. The investment creates a platform for the development and industrialisation of vanadium solid-state and zinc-ion battery technologies for stationary energy storage. In parallel, the company is advancing research collaborations, participating in Swedish innovation programmes, and preparing for future production scale-up.

Future growth plans

Vanadis Energy plans to continue developing and industrialising vanadium solid-state and zinc-ion battery technologies in Sweden. The company is expanding its collaboration with RISE, participating in publicly funded innovation projects, and building industrial capabilities in Rosersberg. The long-term ambition is to strengthen Sweden's role in next-generation stationary energy storage while supporting the development of Swedish and European battery value chains.

Why Sweden

Vanadis Energy chose Sweden for:

  • Existing battery infrastructure and manufacturing assets
  • Access to experienced battery and industrial talent
  • Collaboration opportunities with RISE
  • A growing battery ecosystem and innovation environment
  • Fossil-free electricity and strong industrial capabilities

"Sweden gives Vanadis Energy the right conditions to combine Japanese battery technology with Swedish industrial competence. Establishing in Sweden has helped us move from validation toward scalable production for the next generation of stationary energy storage."

Kazumasa Kurokawa, CEO, Vanadis Energy and MK PLUS
