As one of Europe’s most stable and integrated economies, Denmark continues to offer strong opportunities for Swedish companies. Close economic ties, strong infrastructure, high digitalisation, and a well-functioning business environment make Denmark an attractive market across multiple sectors.

At the same time, companies describe a more demanding operating environment. Corporate taxation, labour shortages, regulatory requirements, and broader geopolitical uncertainty continue to affect competitiveness and long-term planning.

Cooperation between Sweden and Denmark remains particularly strong within sectors such as life sciences, renewable energy, industrial services, defence, digitalisation, and advanced manufacturing. Increased Nordic cooperation and a stronger focus on resilience, energy security, and regional supply chains are also creating new opportunities for Swedish companies.

Competitiveness in Denmark is closely linked to brand awareness, partnerships, sales competence, and strong local market presence. The Swedish brand continues to be associated with quality, reliability, sustainability, and innovation.

Denmark is widely regarded as a stable, transparent, and low-risk market with strong infrastructure, high personal safety, and efficient institutions. However, companies also point to regulatory complexity, labour market challenges, and taxation as areas requiring continued attention.
