As one of Europe’s most competitive and innovative economies, Switzerland continues to offer significant opportunities for Swedish companies. Strong infrastructure, a highly skilled workforce, a stable financial system, and a world-leading innovation ecosystem make Switzerland an attractive market across multiple sectors.
At the same time, companies report a more demanding operating environment. Customs procedures, regulatory requirements, talent shortages in specialised roles, and global economic uncertainty continue to affect competitiveness and business decisions.
Cooperation between Sweden and Switzerland remains strong within sectors such as life sciences, industrial equipment, advanced manufacturing, financial services, technology, and innovation-driven industries. Switzerland’s continued focus on research, innovation, sustainability, and high-value industries creates opportunities for Swedish companies offering advanced and sustainable solutions.
Competitiveness in Switzerland is closely linked to partnerships, customer collaboration, service development, and strong local relationships. The Swedish brand continues to be associated with quality, innovation, sustainability, and reliability.
Switzerland is widely regarded as an attractive and stable market with strong infrastructure, a highly developed financial system, high levels of personal safety, and favourable business conditions. However, companies also point to customs procedures, talent availability, and regulatory complexity as ongoing challenges.
